I trimmed all the blocks too.
The rules I follow, sort of....
If the fabrics are pretty together, they get sewn together to make strips.
If a strip is heavy/dark on one side, the next strip sewn to it, is heavy/dark on the other.
Stagger the seams, unless they are butted together.
If it is lookin' dull, add bright.

fantastic!!!!! the blocks finish at 12" right? so interesting to see how you're putting it together compared to how I am - they look like siblings, but not identical twins. woohoo!

Oh man, this is fantastic! I love it. I especially love the flying geese in there. It sure looks like you're having fun! How big are you planning for, or are you just sewing by the seat of your pants??
