Saturday....

So, I got [THE BOOK] this week and spent part of the day reading. I found Julie's story of it creation quite captivating. The story is about her process and how it all worked.
I was a little disturbed by the 1960's Beautify America Campaign. A lot of barn advertising for Rock City was lost because of it. So sad.
Then there is all the detailed directions. If I learned one thing, it is....don't hurry through the steps.
Let it happen, but don't rush. No matter how excited you might be!

I started another long term project at the end of January.

It is a temperature quilt. I got the idea HERE at live a colorful life. I am doing pretty much the same thing as far as the colors go. Blues are on the cold side. Reds are on the hot side and white is my freezing zone. I did the first 8 days of April, but they aren't in the picture. Living here I get a nice variety of temps. I'm liking it so far.

I'm gonna have to get Julie's book!

Love your temperature quilt! We get some crazy fluctuations here in WA that might make an interesting quilt. Thursday we got up to 80* and today our high is around 57*. This state is bipolar!

Love the temperature quilt idea. Of course, I'd have to go buy solids. Sigh. Well. Maybe not.

Great photo with Julie's book!

I don't think I knew the book was out! I'll have to take a look at it. That temperature quilt is going to be awesome.

I found your blog from the Build ABarn site. I just finished reading your most recent 25 posts. I love your quilts! ๐Ÿ™‚ It has been fun getting to know you as I read. I look forward to following your blog. You must be an 'energizer bunny' kind of person, you get so much done!

I'm doing a temperature quilt, too. In fact, I started a page at Facebook for anyone wanting to join in. One person is crocheting hers, and the rest of us are quilters. The group is called Weather or Not. Come on over and join us! Like us, or whatever.

I LOOOVVEEE your barn block. You and Julie both inspire me and I keep wishing I could grow up to be as fab as you two are. I'm jealous.
