birds....

I have been going back and forth on projects. With a day off from work, it was time to sew bird blocks together and make a center. Right now it is 42 x 54.
Both the birds and big hearts are block lotto patterns.
and

No, I didn't win these. I had made my blocks for the drawing, and then kept on sewing more birds because I loved them. I will put a narrow black border on this and them some blue and red nine patches will go in the border.
The little red hearts are basically 4 patches with the four corner triangles added.
One more cup of coffee and then I will think about what to work on today.

I am sitting here looking at your blog with my morning latté thinking ... how could you not decide to work on this sweet quilt? I love it and I love the way your mind thinks to combine these blocks.

Ps. Please share it in the Block Lotto Gallery when it's done. It's going to be gorgeous.

How can you not smile when you see this quilt. Fabulous. Your plans for the borders will be perfect. How are your sewing machines. You said you had problems several posts ago. Did you get a new one?

Love the birds. Checked the link for the block lotto directions for them. Very amusing. They are based on my tutorial, however the lady who wrote the instructions got my name wrong.

If I had a nickel for everybody who asked me, "Is that T-A-Y...?"

Thanks for passing on Millie's comment--I'm still not sure why she was complaining to you about my mistake when my name and email address are all over my directions, but it's all fixed now. The block pattern with the corrected attribution to Lynne Tyler is here: Bird Block Directions V2. (I screwed up the link the first time I tried to add this comment)

Love the birdie quilt! The hearts look good with the birds. You did a great job on all those birds. And thanks for the tip about the little hearts - that sounds easy and fun.

Love your birds! I was just looking online at new fabric at the LQS. I like BB's Morris Modernized but not the birds. Your birds are fun and whimsical.

Hey.. I spent Friday at quilt shops in Clear Lake (the indoor shop hop at a hotel there). Then also visited Forest City. I like that shop in FC. I spent too much, but it was fun!

I think I made four birds after being inspired by your blocks but that is as far as I got... Seeing yours put together makes me want to make some more!
