Last winter (?) or a while ago,
I walked into The Quilted Forest.
There was a photographer taking pictures.
"hey, are you going to be in that magazine??"
Shelly, looks at me, cool as a cucumber, and says,
"no, these are for our website."
Bummer.
"Well you should be!" I told her.
She couldn't say yes that day.
But that is exactly what was happening.
Saturday was the big open house/celebration. The crowd gathered outside waiting for the shop to open at 10:00 am. Karen and I went.
We bought the magazine and other stuff. We had Shelly autograph her page.
People all over and there was good food to snack on too.
We sat down and ate, while paging through the magazine.
We liked a lot of the quilts in it.
I had to tell Shelly she was a.... liar, liar pants on fire.
We are so happy for her!
Last Monday I started putting this together.....
They are the plaid blocks I won at Block Lotto.
Not sure I like the scrappy sashing.
But it is to late to change it now. Most of it is together now, I am hoping for a finished top by the end of the day.
Other block lotto stuff....
September's block are flowers. I made two. Last month was Jacob's Ladder.
I will be sending these off to three of the winners. See? I don't always win.
Wish I would have, but no, not this time.
I am off to sew some more.

I think the plaids look great. I would not have noticed the scrappy sashing if you hadn't said anything. Love the Jacob's ladder, too.
Check your magazine and read about Redwood Sewing Center, aka Scottie Dog Quilts in Eureka, CA. That shop is owned by my friend, BrendaLou. She also had to keep it a secret for a long time! Pretty exciting. I have not seen the magazine yet. Will have to get one. Are they out for the general public yet?
I LOVE your plaids quilt top. When you're done, I would be happy to take it off your hands. Just send it along with your verb.
I like the plaid quilt even with the scrappy triangles. looks good to me! and the jacob ladder blocks are sweet too.
I was there about a month ago! Great store! Super nice people! Love your blocks!
Oh YES Oh YES I REALLY like how you 2 toned your sashing triangles. How creative you are!!! It's like sewing on 2 sashings at one time!
Well, I didn't know you and Karen got to shop at a CELEBRITIES store for your quilty stuff n things!!! How fun and wonderful the open house!!!
Good for them!!!
I love how you are doing the border on that plaid block lotto quilt (I can't believe how often you win! Must be some good karma in your house!). I don't suppose you'd share HOW to make a border like that...
How exciting! I just bought that magazine. :) Looks like lots of fun, and loving your plaid top.
